Given my interests I think it would have been better for me to be born a woman. Most things I like in life are almost completely male dominated.
* I love physics, there is a shortage of women in the field of physics.
* I like computers, LINUX in particular, but there’s not many female computer geeks.
* I also like lots of other geeky stuff (video games, card games, etc…)
I know there are women who like all of this stuff too, they are just very rare and guys like me just go crazy for them.
There is nothing hotter to me than a shy geeky girl! Sometimes I just want to flaunt my geekiness to attract them, but there are just so many guys out there like me that geeky guys just don’t seem nearly as "rare" or interesting as a geeky girl does.
This is incredibly depressing…
So, what I am wondering is… is there any activities or hobbies out there at all where the gender role is opposite to the one I described above?
Something that would make SOME women just go nuts for guys that share that interest?
Now… Just like the geeky activities I mentioned at the top that I like are NOT shared by all men, I am NOT asking for an activity or interest that is shared by all women.
So maybe you won’t understand why some women are interested in that particular activity, but if it is female dominated please don’t hesitate to post it here.
***Let me paint a picture***
When I hang out with people who share my interests.. for example I went to a "Linux User group" meeting at my home town recently and I did NOT expect a girl to walk through the door… and guess what, none did. But if it DID happen I would have been extremely happy to see her regardless of what she looks like.
So is there something similar like this for women?
Another way to put it is this:.. those geeky activities I listed at the top are really not considered "masculine" OR "feminine" it could be either, however it just so happens to be very male dominated.
So, are there any activities that are not considered too "feminine" or "masculine" but happen to be female dominated?
It can still be feminine… I am just not super psyched about joining a Glee club or anything. I don’t want to change who I am… so even before asking this question I am like 90% sure that I genuinely won’t have an interest in anything that gets posted… However, I still have to ask, for that off chance that just maybe something someone posts actually sounds fun to me.

i KNOW this is long but i seriously have no idea what to do, i never thought i’d get into a situation like this haha.
I’m almost 18 and he JUST turned 20.
Okay I know this is a pretty dumb question, but I have NO idea what to do. I met this guy (chase) who was with his friend ryan last friday with my friend Grace. Grace and Ryan started to talk while Chase and I started to talk. We decided that it would be fun to go on a "double date" type thing on sunday so they picked us up and went to the movies. Chase is the sweetest, funniest, cutest most awesome person I’ve ever met! Him and Ryan just moved down here from a small town of 3000 people so they’re country and believe in paying for girls, opening car doors, and calling you m’am. Its just so adorably sweet. At first Chase was shy and didn’t try to hold my hand until half way through the movie which I didn’t mind because I thought it was cute (I know sounds so middle school-y). Afterwards we all went out to eat at a fast food place and we held hands the whole time there as well. It looked like we were a couple even though it was our first date. Its just that we clicked SO well its like i’ve known him forever. So later that night we end up kissing goodnight but it wasn’t like a hardcore makeout session or anything of that sort. Just pecks. It was an awesome night full of fun. So on Tuesday night we hung out at his and Ryans apartment which I know sounds shady but they’re so nice. I really wanted to play call of duty so we played that against each other until he killed me at least 23910 times haha. Then we decided to watch a movie but we didn’t even watch the movie we just talked about like personal/deep stuff about one another. I swear I’m not normally this forward but something about him draws me to him. So then he asked me to be his girlfriend, I probably was silent for a good 8 seconds before responding because I was so shocked since it was only the second time we hung out. But I felt kinda bad so I said yes, Its not like that I don’t want to its just that he was moving WAY to fast for me. Then he decides to tell me a minor detail (haha) about himself: He’s been married & divorced. He JUST (a few days ago) turned 20 years old by the way. He got married when he was 18 and they divorced just 6 months later. He says he was stupid and he regrets it but it still worries me? So then he takes me home and we kiss goodnight (this time it wasn’t a peck, but we only made out twice) He’s VERY respectful and hasn’t tried anything with me yet. He’s so much fun and he’s SO cute. Yesterday he texted me though asking if I wanted to go to ______ with him on friday (the blank is his hometown he just moved from) because hes going there for Easter, I thought that was REALLY weird seeing how I just met him and he wants me to drive 6 hours with him to meet his family?tSo then we were supposed to hang out last night again but I had church and had to work on a project for school so we didn’t end up hanging out but we were texting and i told him I was going to try to get some sleep & when he replied he said "alright sweetdreams baby. i love you" I WAS SO SHOCKED because I had only said i love you to one guy and that ended up being my boyfriend of over a year plus we said it to each other after dating for five months. So i didn’t reply & he sent another text about 15 minutes later saying "I thought you should know that" and i didn’t end up replying to him until the next morning when i told him i thought we were moving reallllly fast. He didn’t really say anything other than "i was telling you how ive been feeling sorry you don’t feel the same way" & i told him that i was the sorry & that i truly did really like him just that we need to slow down. I also asked if he was mad at me & he said "no m’am not at all" & told me not to feel bad its all good. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO. he’s amazing/awesome/sweet/funny and does NOT seem like a player at all its just that it’s kinda weird how fast he’s moving. I’m not sure if he acts this way because he’s from a small texas town & thats how they act? Or if because he’s 20? I’m going to keep talking with him though because I think he knows now my boundaries.please help me! :/ should I stop it while I still can or test the waters even more?
Being honest is the best thing to do. You said yes to being his girlfriend because you felt bad. Not a good reason to say yes. You owe it to him to tell him the truth. Tell him that you really enjoy him and would like to continue getting to know him slowly. Tell him you want to go out and do things together, but only as friends as you really want to get to know who he is. I am not sure I would go 6 hours to meet his family when you really do not know him. If you do go anywhere with him, I would strongly strongly encourage you to let several people know at all times where you are at. Take your time as it truly does take time to get to know someone.
